Covid 19 has severally affected various people across the world. Undoubtedly, a campaign on forming awareness of the pandemic among people is very important in order to curb the transmission from individual to individual. In this regard, social media influencers have played a significant role in many awareness campaigns organized by companies and the World Health Organization (WHO) because of their popularity and influence among the audience. Social media influencer campaigns on awareness of the pandemic conducted during this period have generated audience engagement. Moreover, it is vital to study the crucial factors that determine the creation of brand awareness among consumers related to influencer marketing campaigns on covid 19 awareness. This study has proposed a conceptual framework by integrating the variables from various theories. This research has incorporated variables such as awareness of covid 19, consumer engagement, physical health, mental health, and brand awareness. This study provides both theoretical and managerial implications. 2024, IGI Global. -
Exploring challenges in online higher education for AI integration using MICMAC analysis
The consequence of Covid-19 has affected the traditional higher education system. Acknowledging the significant role of online education in national development for accessibility and quality education, countries around the world have understood its importance in current digital era. Indian policymakers have been giving due importance to enhancing the education quality, however the progress made by the country in higher education is not adequate. Amidst all the inadequacies of traditional education system, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are bringing new ray of hope to democratize education system. This chapter is subjected to identify the challenges in online education and suggest specific ways to address each of them. The challenges are categorized into internal and external challenges/barriers. These challenges have been modeled with the expertise of educationalist's opinions and interpretive structural modeling to create a hierarchy of the barriers using MICMAC analysis and categorize these barriers into four clusters. 2024, IGI Global. Decoding the alchemy of employee retention: A case of the manufacturing sector of the National Capital Region, India
The ability of a company to retain its staff is referred to as employee retention. It may also be referred to as a decrease in employee attrition or employee turnover rate. Employee retention is one such mechanism which ensures that the human capital stays with the organisation for a longer duration. The study focusses on identifying the drivers of employee retention in the manufacturing industry with respect to certain factors such as mentoring, career development, work environment, job autonomy, and compensation. This research has used the descriptive research design with some elements of exploratory research design. The sample size for the study was 122. Primary data has been collected with the help of a prevalidated questionnaire with multiple-choice closed-ended questions on a five-point Likert scale. The collected data was analysed using Excel and SPSS with statistical tools like T-test, ANOVA, multiple linear regression, etc. A direct positive relation has been found between mentoring, work environment and compensation, and the employees' intention to stay. 2024, IGI Global. -
Consumer ethnocentrism and buying intentions on OTT platforms
This research delves into how OTT platforms are transforming media consumption patterns and explores the role of consumer ethnocentrism in shaping buying behaviors within this context. Through a literature review and quantitative research methodology using a Likert-scale questionnaire, the study investigates the relationship between consumer ethnocentrism, buying intentions, and various influencing factors on OTT platforms. Contrary to expectations, the findings show that consumer ethnocentrism has minimal impact on buying behavior. Instead, factors such as price, content variety, personalized recommendations, cultural alignment, ease of platform usage, familiarity with foreign content, and language preferences are crucial in determining viewers' buying intentions. The chapter concludes by recommending that OTT platforms integrate cultural sensitivities into their strategies to better cater to diverse viewer preferences, thereby enhancing market competitiveness and audience engagement. 2024, IGI Global. -

Neuroscience of social understanding
Comprehending human behavior and interactions requires an understanding of the social mind. Social cognitive neuroscience provides a lens to understand these complexities. This chapter explores the core brain mechanisms that control social conduct by exploring the field of social cognitive neuroscience. It examines aspects of social cognition, like the theory of mind, social perception, empathy, and decisionmaking. It explains how the brain helps navigate complex social contexts by looking at complex interactions between neurological processes and social behaviors. Important subjects include the function of the mirror neuron system, temporoparietal junction and prefrontal cortex in mediating social cognition. It discusses the implications of social cognitive neuroscience for understanding diseases such as schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorder, which are characterized by social deficiencies. Through this research, we learn about the social mind and its brain foundations, and it opens the door to novel interventions that improve interpersonal relationships and social well-being. 2024 by IGI Global. Effect of psychological pricing on consumer buying behaviour: A study on indian consumers
Consumer behaviour is a topic most sought after when it comes to creating successful marketing practices that affect consumers' psychology, acting as a stimulus and inducing them to make purchases. Evidence explains that the psychological pricing strategy communicates with the subconscious mind of consumers, creating a perceptual illusion. This makes the deal seem more appealing to them. This chapter entails a practical study examining the impact of psychological pricing strategies on consumers' buying behaviour. This study has used authentic primary data that has been collected directly from consumers in India based on their buying experiences when encountering psychological pricing. The findings of this research show how socio-demographic factors like age, income, education, gender and family size influence consumers' buying behaviour when encountered with psychological pricing and if psychological patterns such as the anchoring heuristics, recency bias, scarcity effect and halo effect can overpower the influence of psychological pricing strategies in consumer buying behaviour. 2024, IGI Global. -

A Secure Resilient Scheme for Autonomous Vehicles against External Attacks
Autonomous vehicular ad hoc networks are networks created with autonomous vehicles and other entities in the vehicular environment. Like traditional vehicular ad hoc networks, autonomous ad hoc networks are also prone to internal and external attacks. Many authentication schemes are proposed to overcome internal attacks, whereas external attacks are not focused on. Though the impact of external attacks is less when compared to that of internal attacks, external attackers observe and analyze the network traffic information, which will be helpful for the internal attackers to affect the performance of the network. Hence, this chapter proposes a secure identity-based authentication scheme without pairings against external attacks. It uses an elliptic curve cryptography-based identity-based signature to authenticate vehicles. The proposed authentication scheme ensures secure vehicular communications, including inter-vehicular communication, without RSUs during emergencies. Simulation results demonstrate its superior performance. 2024 River Publishers. All rights reserved. -
