Hedging with the Indo-Pacific: why Southeast Asia might benefit from embracing the construct
ASEANs engagement with the Indo-Pacific is often framed as a strategic shift, but this paper argues it is instead a continuation of its established hedging strategy. Drawing historical parallels, particularly Thailands colonial-era diplomacy, the article examines how ASEAN balances major power competition while preserving autonomy. By assessing ASEANs economic and security engagements with China and the United States, the paper highlights how hedging remains essential amidst intensifying geopolitical tensions. The Indo-Pacific framework does not require ASEAN to choose sides but reinforces its flexibility. ASEAN centrality, as enunciated by many global powers, has given much impetus to the organisation to continue with the hedging strategy. As the USChina rivalry deepens, hedging offers ASEAN the best path to stability and strategic relevance. 2025 The Round Table Ltd. -
HEDP-WBAN: Homomorphic Encryption and Differential Privacy for Secure Edge-Based WBANs
In the current era, healthcare is precious for all, so recent technology helps monitor the patients health via sensors and nodes, collect the same data, and analyze the patients condition. This is a technology known as a wireless body area network (WBAN). Nano-sensor devices are attached to the human body as part of WBAN to collect and monitor patient data, but have limited processing power and battery life. So, it cannot perform heavy computations within the node. Edge computing addresses this issue by processing data and reducing response times (in a near-edge node), which also helps mitigate delays and offloads work from WBAN nodes, but creates a privacy risk. Sensitive patient health information can be exposed through cyberattacks, unauthorized access, or profiling from edge nodes. This research proposes that PrivEdge-WBAN (Privacy-Preserving Edge Computing for WBANs) is integrated with edge computing, creates a framework for authentication and secure data processing, and supports new privacy-preserving and energy-efficient techniques. The proposed model combines lightweight Homomorphic Encryption (HE) and Differential Privacy (DP) to enable privacy-preserving computations and security at the edge node while maintaining energy efficiency. Moreover, the proposed framework combines an adaptive security engine that dynamically regulates cryptographic processes and authentication complexity derived from real-time energy levels and device workload. PrivEdge-WBAN aims to provide a comprehensive solution for security, privacy, and battery conservation in the real-world applications of WBAN. The outcome of this research can significantly influence the design of sustainable and secure surveillance systems for the healthcare sector, particularly for chronic illnesses, aging care, and other emergencies. HEES-Based IFVR for Energy-Saving Application Using DCDC Converter
The rapid response capabilities of high-conducting electromagnetic energy storage (HEES) devices are advantageous for mitigating sudden fluctuations in voltage and power. However, the cost of HEES coils significantly exceeds that of traditional battery energy storage solutions. To enhance the efficiency of energy use and diminish the costs associated with energy storage across multiline power distribution systems, this study presents an innovative approach involving an interline dc flexible voltage restorer (IFVR) configuration. This approach utilizes a single HEES coil connected to several compensating circuits. The innovation introduces a currentvoltage (VI) chopper assembly with multiple input/output power connections, enabling the connection of one HEES coil to various power lines. This setup ensures the independent management of energy exchanges for any compensated line. Importantly, when multiple power lines require compensation simultaneously, the HEES coil can be selectively activated to prioritize compensation based on the designated order of importance of the lines. The practicality of this method is confirmed through technical verification, demonstrating its ability to sustain transient voltage stability during voltage increases and decreases on multiple lines. These scenarios may arise from fluctuations in output voltage from power external supplies or variations in load demand from locally connected loads. 2021 IEEE. -

This paper summarizes on object detection, classification, analysis, and display for optical satellite image. Initially, all the existing object detection and object viewing system based on AI techniques are introduced. Various optical imaginary methods and the possibility of immersing optical and 3D data with other data sources are also explained. The surveyed literatures show that in most of the case, the detected objects are taken as resource for planning. We also observed that the image viewing and displaying model was ignored by many authors which is one of the key concepts for next phase. Satellite AR plays a vital role in displaying the images. Overall, it can be seen that optical image view along with AR display can be used for better planning, which is one of the popular research topics and has an excessive operational potential which is the need of the hour dealing with analyzing, predicting, and viewing large amount of data. 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG. -
Hemin-functionalised conducting polymer as a unique host matrix for the electrochemical synthesis of benzothiazole derivatives: A sustainable approach
An electrocatalyst based on the non-toxic and biologically derived metalloporphyrin hemin, immobilized on poly 3,4-diaminobenzoic acid (PDABA) was utilized for the sustainable electrochemical synthesis of benzothiazole derivatives. Electrochemical and topographical attributes of the electrocatalyst were analyzed critically using a ferricyanide probe, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), optical profilometry, FTIR, and FE-SEM techniques. The modified electrode was employed for the electrochemical synthesis of benzothiazole derivatives using various aromatic aldehydes and 2-aminothiophenol. The reactions were performed in a three-electrode system, at oxidation potentials derived from cyclic voltametric elucidations, using lithium perchlorate as the supporting electrolyte and ethanol as the solvent. The products obtained were crystallized, purified and confirmed with the help of 1H-NMR spectroscopy, showing yields ranging from 78-92 %. The hemin based heterogenous electrocatalyst enhances the efficacy of the reaction by reducing reaction time, and negating tedious work-up procedures, thereby making the method highly facile and environmentally benign. 2025 -
Hepatoprotective activity of Peltophorum pterocarpum leaf and bark in the isoniazid and rifampicin-induced hepatotoxic rats
Background: In recent years, various phytomedicines have been used in the treatment of hepatic disorders. The aim of this study is to find out whether Peltophorum pterocarpum bark and leaves can help rats that have been exposed to isoniazid and rifampicin-induced hepatotoxicity. Materials and Methods: The rats were divided into 10 groups each with 6 rats. The liver damage is induced by isoniazid and rifampicin. The leaf and bark of P. pterocarpum extracted with ethanol are freshly mixed in sterile water (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg body weight), and given to rats orally in the early morning as a single dosage per day until the study period. The animals were sacrificed and the tissue and serum samples were collected for further investigations. Results: The liver damage induced by isoniazid and rifampicin altered the various biochemical parameters levels, but after the treatment of P. pterocarpum barks and leaves the levels were significantly altered when compared to the negative control rats. The drug silymarin was used as a standard. Conclusion: The extracts have the protective effect of liver markers and membrane-bound enzymes against the toxin-treated rats. This result highlights the hepatoprotective properties of the leaves and barks of the plant in a similar manner and the formulation (Group 10) have high beneficial effects than other groups. 2024 -

The present study investigated the concurrent delivery of antineoplastic drug, doxorubicin, and HER2 siRNA through a targeted theranostic metallic gold nanoparticle designed using polysaccharide, PSP001. The as-synthesized HsiRNA@PGD NPs were characterized in terms of structural, functional, physicochemical, and biological properties. HsiRNA@PGD NPs exposed adequate hydrodynamic size, considerable ? potential, and excellent drug/siRNA loading and encapsulation efficiency. Meticulous exploration of the biocompatible dual-targeted nanoconjugate exhibited an appealing biocompatibility and pH-sensitive cargo release kinetics, indicating its safety for use in clinics. HsiRNA@PGD NPs deciphered competent cancer cell internalization, enhanced cytotoxicity mediated via the induction of apoptosis, and excellent downregulation of the overexpressing target HER2 gene. Further in vivo explorations in the SKBR3 xenograft breast tumor model revealed the appealing tumor reduction properties, selective accumulation in the tumor site followed by significant suppression of the HER2 gene which contributed to the exclusive abrogation of breast tumor mass by the HsiRNA@PGD NPs. Compared to free drugs or the monotherapy constructs, the dual delivery approach produced a synergistic suppression of breast tumors both in vitro and in vivo. Hence the drawings from these findings implicate that the as-synthesized HsiRNA@PGD NPs could offer a promising platform for chemo-RNAi combinational breast cancer therapy. 2024 American Chemical Society. -

Hereditary factor-based multi-featured algorithm for early diabetes detection using machine learning
Today's advent in the medical industry have given numerous chances to improve the quality of detection and reporting the diseases at the early stages for a better diagnosis. Modern day datasets generate fruitful information for timely and periodic monitoring of patients' health conditions. Such information is hidden to a naked eye or hidden in multiple track records of highly affected population. Diabetes mellitus is one such disease which is predominant among a global population which ultimately leads to blindness and death in some cases. The model proposed in this system attempts to design and deliver an intelligent solution for predicting diabetes in the early stages and address the problem of late detection and diagnosis. Intensive research is carried out in many tropical countries for automating this process through a machine learning model. The accuracy of machine learning algorithms is more than satisfactory in the detection of Type 2 diabetes from the dataset of PIMA Indians Diabetes Dataset. An additional feature of hereditary factor is implemented to the existing multiple objective fuzzy classifiers. The proposed model has improved the accuracy to 83% in the training and tested datasets when compared to NGSA model of prediction. 2022 Scrivener Publishing LLC. -
Hermeneutic keys and pedagogic tips: Enrich case research
Pedagogy sharpens and complements hermeneutics to form the prolegomena statement for this chapter. The chapter undertakes two approaches: It deals with closer understanding of the text in depth and also explains the findings of the text for pedagogical applications. The science of interpretations will provide a proliferation of meanings and interpretations. The lessons from pedagogy will facilitate a lot of assistance for academic and teaching purposes. Radhakrishnan Nair's hermeneutic keys and Justin Joy's pedagogic tips form the crux of the matter in the research paper. Here, research in case studies culminate in some useful findings related to comprehension and conception of case as text. However, quite legitimately the research demands a specialist partner in complementary pedagogical research, which compels to find a research association from the management faculty, at once competent in pedagogy. Justin Joy shares and resolves the problems Nair has confronted with. 2023 by IGI Global. All rights reserved. -
Hesitant bipolar fuzzy set-based decision system for electric vehicle charging station location planning
The selection of electric vehicle (EV) charging station locations is a critical challenge that significantly affects the growth and acceptance of the EV industry. As EVs offer a sustainable solution to fossil fuel depletion and environmental pollution, identifying optimal charging station sites involves dealing with uncertain, inconsistent, and conflicting criteria. To address these challenges, this paper presents an innovative decision-making framework based on Hesitant Bipolar-Valued Fuzzy Sets (HBVFSs), which account for both positive and negative hesitant membership values to better model uncertainty in expert judgments. A novel hybrid Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) technique is proposed, combining the Step-wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and Pivot Pairwise Relative Criteria Importance Assessment (PIPRECIA) methods to determine robust criteria weights within the HBVFS environment. The Preference Ranking Organization METHod for Enrichment Evaluation II (PROMETHEE-II) is employed for the final site ranking. This integrated approach enables a more comprehensive and reliable evaluation of potential locations by incorporating both qualitative and quantitative factors. The proposed methodology has practical applications in real-world infrastructure planning and supports more resilient decision-making in sustainable transportation networks. The results demonstrate the model's effectiveness and adaptability in addressing the site selection problem under uncertainty. 2025 Elsevier Ltd -

Heteroatom engineered graphene-based electrochemical assay for the quantification of high-risk abused drug oxytocin in edibles and biological samples
The naive detection of scheduled H drug oxytocin is a vital requisite, owing to its deleterious impact on societal affluence prompted by unconstrained usage. Therefore, a reliable, cost-effective, and quick-to-respond analytic technique for this drug is in ample demand. In this work, we report electrochemical detection of oxytocin employing novel nitrogen, phosphorus co-doped coke-derived graphene (NPG) modified electrode. The electro-oxidation behavior of oxytocin was investigated on the NPG modified electrode by square wave stripping voltammetry (SWSV) in 0.1 M phosphate buffer of pH 7. The oxidation peak current was linear in two ranges, spanning from 0.1 nM to 10 nM and 15 nM to 95 nM. The limit of detection at the NPG electrode was calculated to be 40 pM. The practical application of developed sensor for the determination of oxytocin was examined in edible products and body fluids, hence signifying the possibility of having real-time surveillance over its misusage. 2022 Elsevier Ltd -

Heterojunction engineered MWCNT/Ag3PO4 via organic acid and its natural light-assisted photocatalytic efficiency
Compositing photoactive, but unstable semiconductors with low dimensional carbon-based materials and modulating the hetero junction between them can assure more efficient and stable systems for the remediation of severe pollutants. The current study has given emphasis to understand the role of sulfonic acid in making a compact heterojunction between AP and MWCNTs, considering the effective delocalization of carriers and the direct relationship with the photoactivity. The significant reduction in the band gap of AP from 2.320 to 2.0516ev after the introduction of MWCNTs unmistakably confirmed the compatibility between the composite moieties. The intensity of the photoluminescence peak observed at an emission wavelength of 350nm for pure AP was found to be minimized in the composite, which confirms the effective charge delocalization from AP to the conductive MWCNTs. The closest bond distance was observed in the range of 2.3 to 2.5between an O atom of Ag3PO4 and a C atom of CNT, which explains the tight contact between the species. The photoactivity studies unambiguously confirmed the potential of the organic acid at the composite interface as it could accomplish 99% dye degradation within a span of 8min, whilst the system without the organic acid exhibited complete degradation within a span of 60min. The p-XRD analysis of the catalyst recovered from the reaction mixture revealed its high stability. 2023 Elsevier B.V. -

HHO-Based Vector Quantization Technique for Biomedical Image Compression in Cloud Computing
In the present digital era, the exploitation of medical technologies and massive generation of medical data using different imaging modalities, adequate storage, management, and transmission of biomedical images necessitate image compression techniques. Vector quantization (VQ) is an effective image compression approach, and the widely employed VQ technique is Linde-Buzo-Gray (LBG), which generates local optimum codebooks for image compression. The codebook construction is treated as an optimization issue solved with utilization of metaheuristic optimization techniques. In this view, this paper designs an effective biomedical image compression technique in the cloud computing (CC) environment using Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO)-based LBG techniques. The HHO-LBG algorithm achieves a smooth transition among exploration as well as exploitation. To investigate the better performance of the HHO-LBG technique, an extensive set of simulations was carried out on benchmark biomedical images. The proposed HHO-LBG technique has accomplished promising results in terms of compression performance and reconstructed image quality. 2023 World Scientific Publishing Company.
