The repercussions of teaching in the digital era: A boon or bane?
Recently, the world has experienced a big change due to the pandemic controlling our lives. The change is also experienced by the education sector. The pandemic has forced the whole system to go digital overnight. Although the learning system has been slowly moving towards digitalisation for a considerable period of time now, the social media platform is taking over the traditional method of learning. The study has 61 respondents and the data is collected through a questionnaire. The paper applies regression analysis with the help of SPSS. The development of digital learning platforms provides an alternative to offline learning. This recent spread of the e-learning environment was fast forwarded in the COVID period. The independent variables of the paper are professional skills and ethical proficiency in online learning. These challenges are evaluated, and their impact is assessed on the learning outcome. The chapter limits its approach to professional and ethical scales by ignoring the other important variables that decide the learning outcome of the students. However, the current body of literature has a very narrow approach to the learning system. So, the chapter inspires us to cover the gap through the proposed framework model for teaching practices in the digital era. The chapter intends to develop the teaching skills and moral conscience of the academicians and ease the learners into the new path of education. The future scope makes it definite for the growing learners to understand the advancement in technology and its repercussion on the skill development process. 2024 River Publishers. The Role of Artifcial Intelligence in Renewable Energy
Technology is evolving at an unbelievable pace, to the extent where many of us cant keep up effectively. With increasing Artifcial Intelligence (AI) complexity, our environment will be transformed in amazing ways over the years and decades that follow. The renewable energy (RE) sector is no different. AI can observe patterns and beneft from large amounts of knowledge. Consequently, AI is able to make improvements to enhance energy production, conversion, and even delivery. These systems allow precise forecasting of, for example, weather and loads, mitigating, among countless other uses, the possibility of electrical surges. AI systems would signifcantly improve the productivity of renewable systems by automation over the next 10 years. For solar and wind energy, this will become particularly prevalent. Independent power producers would have the latitude required to deliver ever-more sustainable business models and services by integrating increased generation coupled with low-cost savings provided by automation. We are all aware of the requirements of RE, including solar power. However, how can AI help to increase the availability of RE? The demand for global energy is growing day by day, but fossil fuels cannot fulfll our future needs for energy. Because of increased energy consumption, fossil fuel carbon emissions have reached very high levels over time. RE, however, is emerging as a good replacement for fossil fuels. It is safer and also very clean in comparison to traditional sources. The RE industry has made tremendous strides during the preceding decade with developments in technology. AI and machine learning technologies can analyze data to predict the future. So, the use of AI can solve the problems and challenges of RE. In this chapter we discuss RE, its sources and challenges, and how AI can address these challenges. The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023. -
The role of big data in predicting consumer behavior
Consumer behavior prediction is a significant task, and it is a prerequisite for marketing activities. Regardless of the product type/market type, predicting consumer behavior plays a vital role in determining the target market. The activities involved in identifying a target market include the tasks of analyzing the offerings, conducting market research, identifying market segments to create consumer profiles, and assessing the competition. In order to complete all four tasks mentioned above, it needs to have comprehensive and precise data/dataset in hand. It also means that the data/fact is the primary source of predicting consumer behavior. In today's digital world, sources of source (data) are multifold. During the process of data collection, if the repository is accepting data from such sources, then all five "V" (Volume, Velocity, Variety, Veracity, and Value) of data should be considered. The role of big data in predicting consumer behavior is inevitable. Machine learning models shall be deployed to analyze data from big data. In this chapter, benchmark datasets, and machine learning, are used to demonstrate the usage of artificial intelligence in analyzing, forecasting, and predicting consumer behavior. Before concluding the chapter, the performance of algorithms is evaluated and compared to find the most suitable models for predicting consumer behavior. Benchmark datasets are used in this chapter to represent the role of big data in predicting consumer behavior. 2023 Nova Science Publishers, Inc. All rights reserved. -

The Role of Corporations in Achieving Ecological Sustainability: Evaluating the Environmental Performance of Corporations
Industrial development of the past 200 years has brought immeasurable wealth and prosperity. However, it has also caused an unintended eco-logical degradation. Hence, the focus of environmental law has shifted from the creation of global frameworks to deal with environmental problems to comply with those frameworks. As a result, the primary actors in environmental law have shifted from the state and the global community to corporations. As a consequence, environmental policies must develop along legally holistic lines. The role corporations have had in achieving ecological sustainability is poorly understood. In the backdrop of the above issues, the chapter examines the implications of ecologically sustainable development for corporations. It articulates corporate ecological sustainability through the concepts of environmental management and ecologically sustainable competitive strategies. It further examines the implications that these concepts have for a corporation in the long run. 2020 by IGI Global. -

The role of personal harmony and organisational citizenship behaviour in enhancing job satisfaction of teachers working in Indian higher educational institutions during the COVID-19 catastrophe in the VUCA world
Purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has been a good example of a Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA) world. Higher educational institutions (HEIs) have faced a massive hit because the jobs in this industry have become unexpected. Considering the most valuable assets 'Teachers' crunched in the VUCA crisis, the study intends to determine if personal harmony (PH) and organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) would enhance teachersjob satisfaction (JS). Design/methodology/approach: Data are collected from the teachers of Indian HEIs and teachers who have experienced the impact of the COVID-19 catastrophe (VUCA). Considering the pandemic restrictions, data have been collected through an online survey (N = 364). Practical Implications: PH is an individual's internal quality and attribute that cannot be developed on force or situational need. Even in an uncertain situation, teachers have tried their best to contribute through professional service. Hence, people who possess PH contribute their best even though unsatisfied with their jobs. Originality/value: This study has focused on finding the relationship between two different variables, PH and OCB (which has not been explored in Asian countries, majorly in India, where it has a vast cultural diversity and structure influencing the educational policies) that hinders the factors influencing JS, where these two variables are highly influenced by hygiene factors such as values, culture, ethical standards, personal belief, leadership styles, and fair treatment showcased by the organisations/institutions. 2024 The authors. The Shame of Ageing During Fourth Industrial Revolution: A Thematic Analysis of Indian Adults
The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), a term popularised by Klaus Schwab in 2016, connected the physical-biological and the digital world. This is an era of artificial intelligence and computational technologies suited to satiate the needs of the human race. The emphasis is also on a digital identity we have developed alongside our physical and psychological entities. Millennials and Gen Z have a cognizant grip on their digital identity and are known to use the fruits of 4IR in their everyday livelihood. However, with the advent of Industry 4.0, the generation of Baby Boomers and Gen X have had to undergo much re-learning and accommodate the newer ways of integrating digitalization in their lives. The process has brought about occupational threats and shaming related to failure to upgradation and flexibility. This article explores the influences of these social experiences on the identity and self-concept of the quinquagenarians and the sexagenarians. The article follows a qualitative method where using a thematic approach, the emerging themes from the in-depth interviews will be analyzed in detail to form a theoretical framework for shaming among the Indian Baby Boomers and Gen X. The variables in focus are adjustment, coping styles, resilience, the purpose of life, and Self-Image. The study explores the themes of Indian adults, which emerge from interviewing 46 participants, who have been associated with full-time employment and are between 77 and 59 years of age, representing the Baby Boomers, and those between 43 and 58 years of age, representing Gen X. The analysis adopts a psychoanalytic approach, where the data is interpreted using an Eriksonian lens. The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024. -
The social psychology of COVID-19 stigma
The spread of infectious diseases and the associated stigmatisation of people is an evidenced history. The present chapter is an attempt to explain the stigma of race, class and religion in India with the help of the established intergroup theories of social psychology to highlight the psychosocial consequences resulting out of an outbreak of infectious diseases, i.e., COVID-19. In order to present the implicational value of intergroup theories in explaining the practices of COVID-19-generated stigmatisation of people in India on the basis of their belongingness to particular race, class and religion, a systemic review of the COVID-19-generated stigmatisation of people and groups was carried out. Anecdotal presentations of stigmatised treatments against the several social groups in India are explained from the vantage of intergroup theoretical approaches of social psychology. In our review, intergroup theories of social psychology were found instrumental in explaining COVID-19-generated stigmatised treatments directed against people based on race, class and religion. Intergroup Emotions Theory could explain the stigmatisation of Northeast Indians. Scapegoat theory was found instrumental in explaining the stigmatisation of poor and migrants. Stigmatisation against Muslims could be justifiably explained in the light of social identity theory. At last, the chapter attempts to make certain recommendations aimed to reduce or combat negative psychosocial responses to infectious diseases like COVID-19. 2025 selection and editorial matter, Asma Parveen and Rajesh Verma; individual chapters, the contributors. -

The Truncated Modified Lindley Generated Family of Distributions
In this paper, two contributions to the modified Lindley distribution are provided. First, we bend the truncation scheme to this model to introduce a new distribution on the interval (0, 1). Theory and practice are provided. In particular, we show that it can be an interesting alternative to the analogous truncated exponential and Lindley distributions. Then, we employ this truncated distribution to develop a new generalized family of distributions. We examine its main theoretical properties, and show how it can be applied quite efficiently to analyse various data sets. 2023 Mir Masoom Ali, Irfan Ali, Haitham M. Yousof and Mohamed Ibrahim. -
