Adapting palates: A mapping of food neophobia and neophilia in the shift towards sustainable food consumption
This research explores how two different personality traits-neophilia and neophobia-affect people's eating habits and preferences in the context of sustainable gastronomy tourism. Neophilia, which indicates an openness to trying new culinary experiences, contrasts with neophobia, which is defined as a fear of new foods. Data was collected from 234 gastronomy tourists in Bangalore to examine these dynamics. Smart PLS-SEM 4 was utilized for data analysis. The survey investigated the attitudes and behaviours of participants regarding sustainable food practices that they encountered while engaging in gastronomy tourism. The results show that food neophobia significantly improves people's perceptions of food quality, which further had a statistically significant favourable influence on sustainable consumption; it had no significant effect on post-consumption behaviour. The study highlights how vital gastronomy is to improving experiences, preserving local identity, and drawing tourists-particularly in the rapidly growing category of culinary tourism. 2024, IGI Global. This research investigates the impact of usage of blockchain technology in student credential verification within university academic management system. This study employs a descriptive research through quantitative analysis of data collected from universities that have integrated or planning to integrate blockchain technology into their academic management systems. Key parameters examined include awareness and familiarity with blockchain, extent of blockchain usage, user experience and satisfaction, the perceived impact and benefits. The study concluded that restricted opportunities for education, healthcare disparities, economic inequality are among the challenges faced by the women in tourism industry. Analysis of impact investment for sustainable development in India
Impact investment is a form of investing the purpose of which is to generate not just financial returns, but positive social or environmental impacts also. The objective of this research is to observe the trends that are being followed in the Indian impact investing landscape and draw the comparisons and/or similarities with the data published by the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), a nonprofit organisation committed to expanding the scope of impact investing globally. For the objective of gauging the Indian impact investment movement, primary data was collected through a survey of 238 Indian impact investors, and the data collected was analysed descriptively and compared with secondary data available on the GIIN's website. The evolution of currency: A comparative study of the barter system and cryptocurrency
The barter system, the oldest form of exchange dating back to human civilization, involves directly exchanging goods and services without using money. However, it comes with limitations, such as the requirement for a double coincidence of wants, difficulties in valuing goods and services, and the absence of a store of value. Over time, various forms of money emerged to overcome these limitations. Commodity money, like gold and silver, gained value due to their rarity and intrinsic worth. Later, fiat currencies were introduced, backed by trust rather than physical commodities. In contrast, cryptocurrency, a new digital currency not issued by any central authority, relies on blockchain technology for secure and anonymous transactions. A study exploring the effect of subliminally priming known human faces vs. unknown human faces on product selections by consumers: Unseen motivators
Unconscious thoughts more than often are seen to precede conscious contemplations of the surroundings. The Present chapter attempts to explore how subliminal priming of known and unknown human faces could impact product selection and decision-making time of consumers. 2 (Known face X Unknown face) X 2 (Product selection X Decision-making time) within-subject design was used for the study. A stimulus-priming experiment designed in E-prime software was used to subliminally expose the participants to both known and unknown human faces They were then asked to select a product that they were willing to buy from an option of four products, of which one of the products was primed along with Human face (Known Vs Unknown). The product selection rates as well as the time taken to select the product were recorded. A total of 100 Participants falling in the age category of young adults (18-39) took part in the study.
