Role of Design Thinking in Service Learning Towards Attaining Holistic Development
Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) play a pivotal role in nurturing personal and professional development in students. These institutions are essential in equipping students with the skills required for life. The graduate attributes aid the graduates in attaining the whole person's growth or holistic development. There are many ways through which students can achieve graduate attributes. Service Learning is a structured, credit- based coursework designed by HEIs to accomplish optimal student learning outcomes. It is most beneficial for community students and all other stakeholders. Design thinking in SL involves figuring out peoples problems and developing practical and implementable ideas. Service Learning (SL) is a pedagogical approach that involves applying classroom learning for the improvement and welfare of society. It is a form of inclusive education that bridges the gap between the classroom and society. Despite being a widely used pedagogical approach in HEIs, it also faces specific challenges in its implementation. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. -
Engaging Adolescents With ASD in Animal-Assisted Therapy: Benefits of Human-Animal Bond
Adolescents with autism spectrum disorder lack social competence. Considering the chronic nature of the disorder, it becomes essential to focus on this critical developmental phase. For people with ASD, animal- assisted interventions appear to help enhance social functioning. This chapter aimed to explore whether therapy animals could help adolescents with ASD become more socially adept through research utilizing an AB single- case experimental design with two adolescents. The participants were measured on social competence, attention, and memory. Over a month, the intervention was given twice a week for 45-60 minutes, resulting in 8 therapy sessions. With the assistance of a trained dog, a licensed clinical psychologist delivered the AAT sessions. Results show that AAT helps improve social competence alongside fostering better attention and memory. The chapter highlights the role of human- animal interactions in the developmental period of adolescence with ASD. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved. -
Understanding the Neuropsychological Profile of Autism Spectrum Disorder
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition characterized by impairments in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and sensory processing challenges. This chapter delves into the neuropsychological profile of individuals with ASD, examining key cognitive domains such as executive functioning, social cognition, emotional regulation, and sensory integration. By exploring how these cognitive and behavioral dimensions manifest uniquely in ASD, the chapter highlights the neurobiological and neurocognitive mechanisms that contribute to the disorders heterogeneity. We also discuss the impact of cognitive deficits on adaptive behavior, learning, and daily functioning, emphasizing how individual differences shape developmental outcomes. Current research findings and clinical observations are integrated to provide a nuanced understanding of the diverse neuropsychological patterns in ASD. This chapter aims to equip clinicians and researchers into the cognitive profiles of ASD. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. All rights reserved. -
Algorithmic Governance in ESG Ratings: Addressing Bias and Enhancing Transparency in AI- Driven Sustainable Finance
ESG ratings serve as guides for corporate investment and strategic decisions and are appended with numerous biases, inconsistencies, and lack of transparency. The present chapter attempts to examine the ratings of 100 companies from different industries and regions and compare S&P Global with MSCI and Sustainalytics. The chapter researches the effects of size, sector, and regional biases on scores using a mixed- method approach. Findings show that energy- intensive sectors are downgraded because of sustainability efforts; large firms get higher grades due to better disclosure, and performance is also higher for companies in jurisdictions marked by stringent regulations. Inconsistencies in ratings are illustrated further by examples of the specific study cases that deal with BlackRock and Tesla. This chapter brings an AI- enabled framework that uses blockchain and machine learning, as well as real- time information, to boost transparency and standardization in response to these issues. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. Impact of ESG Factors on the Financial Performance of Corporates in India
This study investigates the connection between Indian companies' financial results and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, with a focus on socially and environmentally sensitive industries. There is little data on the financial effects of ESG integration in developing nations like India, even though it is becoming more and more crucial for long- term value development. Using a quantitative approach involving ESG ratings and financial indicators (Return on Equity [ROE], Return on Assets [ROA], and Return on Capital Employed [ROCE]) we analyze the performance of firms from 2021 to 2023 in five different sectors. Among the pillars, environmental issues had the most significant effect on material financial success, showing a positive but weak correlation with ESG scores. However, the study also investigates into sectoral distinctions, pointing to differential financial outcomes associated with ESG across industries. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing. Enhancing Quick Commerce Service Experience Through AI Marketing: An Empirical Investigation
This study examines the impact of AI-driven marketing strategies on quick commerce service experience (QCSE). Specifically, it investigates how personalization, smart search, and dynamic pricing influence consumers' perceptions of service experience in ultra-fast delivery platforms. Using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) on survey data from 427 quick commerce users in India, the study finds that personalization has the strongest positive effect on QCSE, followed by dynamic pricing, while smart search has a weaker yet significant impact. The research validates QCSE as a higher-order formative construct comprising app design, security, fulfilment, and service support dimensions. The findings contribute to signaling theory by demonstrating how AI-driven marketing features serve as signals of platform experience perceptions. For practitioners, the results highlight the importance of AI-powered personalization and pricing strategies in enhancing service experiences. 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.
