Social Media and Steganography: Use, Risks and Current Status
Steganography or data hiding is used to protect the privacy of information in the transit; it has been observed that the information that flows through Online Social Networks (OSN) is very much unsafe. Therefore, people hesitate to communicate their sensitive data on social media.. Most of the information on the online social network is not useful to users and appears to disregard such details. People's actions provided a possibility for digital Steganography through the Internet.. TCPIP covert channels were used for steganography until the last decade. People began to utilize social media as a covert conduit to communicate hidden messages to targeted users as social media grew in popularity. There are numerous Online Social Networks accessible nowadays, ranging from Facebook to the more contemporary Twitter and Instagram. All of them may be utilized as covert channels without the general public noticing. The primary characteristic of steganography is the protection of information privacy; nonetheless, it has been utilized more for illicit message transmission, which is a source of concern. To make matters worse, adversaries are using steganalysis techniques to mess with the concealed data. In this article, we examine the different social media steganography techniques, such as those used on Facebook, WhatsApp, and Twitter, as well as the difficulties that these approaches raise. The positive and negative consequences of social media, as well as its current state, are discussed in this study. This paper discusses how the performances of Steganography methods may be assessed using the Entropy value of the Stego object. A look of the three features of steganography. It has been given with undetectability, robustness, and payload capacity. Finally, the paper's concept's future scope is explored. 2013 IEEE. -
SOCIAL MEDIA AND SOCIO-POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS IN INDIA: SLACTIVISM VS. ACTIVISM
The Internet has only about 6% penetration in India. These are words we repeatedly hear whenever there is a discussion about the power of social media and the Internet in general. Even though we say that the Internet penetration in India is very little, the figure in numbers is 100,000,000, as of 2010, which is a penetration of 8.5%. (Internet Usage and Population Statistics, 2010). In a country like India, even one percent is a few million people. That's not a discountable figure in a democracy. Therefore, the effect it has in the social context because of social media, cannot be undermined. This paper aims to study the effects of social media campaigns by doing a study on the socio- political campaigns in India. Some campaigns like the Pink Chaddi Campaign and the ??Support Anna Hazare Campaign?? have made extensive use of the social media. Social media activism today has come to be known as ??slacktivism?? as cited and explained in the further sections of this research paper. This research paper aims to find out if this term applies to activism on social media for socio-political campaigns in the Indian context. The aim is to understand if and how the social media has been effective in propagating different causes and how it has affected the new media users and sensitized them to issues. The implications of the findings, if proven that social media has a mass effect on the people of India, will be that using platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other public information sharing sites will have to be integrated into every social message that circulates around in the media industry and the loss the campaign will incur if this isn??t fulfilled. -

Social isolation and loneliness among Generation Z employees: can emotional intelligence help mitigate?
The paper tested a moderated mediation model with social isolation, loneliness, emotional intelligence, and quality of life among Generation Z (Gen Z) employees. Approximately 568 Gen Z employees participated in this study. We used WHOQOL-BREF for measuring quality of life, Schuttes emotional intelligence test, UCLA loneliness scale and social isolation scale from Choi and Noh. We applied the PROCESS macro (model 7) by Hayes for a moderated mediation analysis, using emotional intelligence as a moderating variable and loneliness as a mediating variable between social isolation and quality of life. The results indicate that emotional intelligence moderates the mediating effect of loneliness on social isolation and quality of life and supports hypothesis 2. First, the indirect impact of social isolation on quality of life varies as a function of emotional intelligence moderating the path. Second, both social isolation and loneliness are negative and significant predictors of quality of life. Loneliness is not an individual problem anymore but a public health issue around the world. Individuals who are lonely experience both mental and physical health issues. Strong measures are needed to combat loneliness, and the current research results confirm that emotional intelligence-based interventions will help individuals fight loneliness. 2024 The Author(s). Social Inclusion, Equality, Leadership, and Diversity to Attain Sustainable Development Goal 5 in the Indian Banking Industry
The UN SDG 5 aspires to end all kinds of bigotry and abuse of women, although gender bias still exists in India. Most bank employees are men; few women hold senior positions in Indias banking industry because of the countrys early history of limiting chances for women to enter the profession. The solution to this is to hire women in leadership positions from international locations if the banking sector opens. The development of the banking industry in India relies on the best talent. The banking sector must open its position for multinational expatriates to maintain diversity and bring forth the inclusivity of a multi-talented global workforce. The concept of liberalization, privatization, and globalization in the Indian context is limited. Privatization and globalization can only be anticipated if they have a multicultural workforce within the country and globally. 2022 -

Social groupwork for promoting psychological well-being of adolescents enrolled in sponsorship programs
Background: The dearth of data on adolescents highlighted in the UN's data disaggregation against the agenda 'no one left behind' calls for research on 'the second decade'. Moreover, India is a country with the world's largest adolescent population, and as such, studies and policies for developing competencies of adolescents are crucial to the country's development; interventions instilling confidence to aspire to a better future in underprivileged adolescents are vital to mitigate inequity. Methods: This intervention study adopted a quasi-experimental design to measure the effectiveness of social groupwork in raising the psychological well-being of adolescents in child sponsorship programs in Kerala. Forty adolescents from a Child Sponsorship Program (CSP) center in Kochi were recruited for the study. Those suggested by the CSP center considering their poor academic performance and behavior problems were allocated to the intervention group and the rest to the comparison group. The intervention was designed in response to the information garnered through a preliminary study and administered to the intervention group (n=20). We conducted pre-test and post-test for both the intervention group and comparison group (n=20). Results: Comparison between pre- and post-measurements carried out using paired sample t-test for the intervention group and comparison group separately gave a p-value of <0.05 for the intervention group and >0.05 for the comparison group. Thus, it was proved that psychological well-being of participants in the intervention group was raised significantly due to the social group work intervention. Conclusions: Applying refined granularity, this research adds data specifically on adolescents enrolled in child sponsorship programs and sets a blueprint for social groupwork to improve their psychological well-being. Proposing a conceptual framework for child sponsorship programs, this study recommends further research in all aspects of its functioning, and interventions at group, family, and community levels, for the well-being and empowerment of marginalized adolescents. 2021 Joseph S and Karalam DSRB. -

Social environment based on sentiments using globalized user review analysis /
Patent Number: 202141007727, Applicant: Dr.G Muneeswari.
A simple yet efficient model, called Globalized User Sentiment Analysis (GURA) by using the property that sentiment classification has two opposite class labels (i.e., positive and negative), we first propose a data expansion technique by creating sentiment toggled reviews. The original and switched reviews are constructed in a one-to-one correspondence. Thereafter, we enhance the dual training (DT) algorithm and a dual forecasting (DF) algorithm separately, to make use of the original and switched samples in pairs for training a statistical classifier and make predictions. -

Social entrepreneurial opportunity recognition among higher education students: scale development and validation
Purpose: This study aims to develop and validate a multidimensional scale to measure the motivating factors that lead to opportunity recognition in social entrepreneurship among higher education institute (HEI) students. Design/methodology/approach: The scale was developed through two phases; in phase 1, semi-structured interviews with social entrepreneurs and aspiring students were conducted to explore themes for item generation. Phase 2 included developing and validating the scale using exploratory (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The sample included HEI students (n = 300 for EFA, n = 300 for CFA) with either academic background or volunteering experiences in social entrepreneurship. Findings: A 24-item scale is developed in the study, with six factors measuring the motivating factors influencing opportunity recognition in social entrepreneurship: life experiences, social awareness, social inclination, community development, institutional voids and natural option for a meaningful career. Research limitations/implications: The scale facilitates the development of theories and models in social entrepreneurship. The scale also enables policymakers and social entrepreneurship educators to understand the motivating factors that lead to opportunity recognition among students. It would help them to provide target-specific support to students. Originality/value: To the best of the authors knowledge, this study is the first attempt to develop a scale that measures opportunity recognition in social entrepreneurship based on specific motivating factors. The study used the model by Yitshaki and Kropp (2016) as the conceptual framework. This study is the first attempt to triangulate the models findings using a quantitative methodology and through the development of a measurement scale. Besides, the scale adds value to social entrepreneurship research, which lacks empirical research on HEI students. 2024, Emerald Publishing Limited. -
