Antecedents and Trajectories of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Crisis: Assimilating Empirically Guided Pathways for Stakeholders
Importance: Amid and following the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a growing focus on understanding the underlying etiology of the mental health crisis in children and youth. However, there remains a dearth of empirically driven literature to comprehensively explore these issues. This narrative review delves into current mental health challenges among children and youth, examining perspectives from both pre-pandemic and pandemic periods. Observations: Research highlights reveal concerning statistics, such as 1 in 5 children experience mental health disorders. The pandemic exacerbated these issues, introducing stressors such as job losses and heightened anticipatory anxiety. Race relations have emerged as a significant public health concern, with biases impacting students, particularly affecting Asian, black, and multiracial individuals. Substance use trends indicate a rise in overdose deaths, particularly among adolescents, with cannabis use linked to adverse outcomes. Increased screen time and income disparities further compound mental health challenges. Conclusions and Relevance: Proposed public health mitigation strategies include improving access to evidence-based treatments, implementing legislative measures for early identification and treatment of developmental disorders, and enhancing suicide prevention efforts. School-based interventions and vocational-technical education are crucial, alongside initiatives targeting sleep hygiene, social media usage, nutrition, and physical activity. Educating health care professionals about both physical and mental health is essential to address workforce burnout and effectively manage clinical complexities. 2024 Physicians Postgraduate Press, Inc. -

Antecedents of Behavioural Intention : Study of Indian Consumer Perceptions Towards P2P Lending Using Technology Adoption Model
Fintech is a rapidly developing area of the financial services business where tech-focused startups and other new players are upending how the sector has historically operated. One of the emerging fintech areas under digital lending is Peer to Peer lending or (P2P) lending; Consumers and authorities are both showing interest in this alternative lending innovation. Results of a literature review show that India is still in the early stages of P2P lending research. The study examines the association between behavioural intention to use P2P lending in India and technological and personal adoption factors. The study model was developed with the help of a literature review and tested using data from 536 respondents who completed an online survey and was tested using covariance-based structural equation modelling (SEM). The results confirm that personal innovativeness, performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, effort expectancy, social influence, and perceived risk are the antecedents of the adoption of P2P lending, except for facilitating conditions and price value. In addition, gender moderates the relationship between performance expectancy, hedonic motivation, personal innovativeness, and intention to adopt P2P lending. The study also throws light on the perceptions of both users and non users in terms of the antecedents. The study's conclusions significantly impact the P2P lending industry and provide practical insights for developers, platforms and regulators to improve and enhance the service. The study suggests looking at other moderating factors like age, voluntariness, experience, and actual usage behaviour for further research. Overall, the research contributes to the academic literature by confirming the predictive power of the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). It highlights personal innovativeness after performance expectancy and motivation as an important factor in predicting the usage of P2P lending. Finally, the study lists managerial implications in the domains of technological adoption, which will assist in the P2P lending long-term success in India. -
Antecedents of brand love leading to purchase intention towards refurbished video game consoles
This paper examines different constructs that influence purchase intention of refurbished video game consoles to assess its multi-factorial association with brand love. The data was collected from video game console cafes in the cities of Bangalore and Pune, India. The findings demonstrate that adoption determinants and social influence have a positive influence on brand love, while notably, environmental involvement has a positive influence on an individuals purchase intention. Brand love would not singularly influence positive purchase intention in the context of refurbished video game consoles. The paper clarifies that brand love alone cannot influence the purchasing decision of an individual in the context of refurbished video game consoles, the companies selling or remanufacturing these products can benefit by advertising these products as being environmentally involved. This is the first paper that examines the effects of brand love and purchase intentions in the context of refurbished video game consoles. Copyright 2023 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd. -
Antecedents of consumer attitude and purchase intention towards counterfeit products
This paper aims to investigate the effect of information reliability, risk, and value consciousness on hedonic behaviour, attitude towards counterfeit products, and genuine store trustworthiness. Using a structured survey instrument, this paper gathered data from 449 respondents from three cities major cities (Kochi, Bangalore, and Chennai) in southern part of India. The hierarchical regression render support that: 1) information reliability is positively related to hedonic behaviour and attitude towards counterfeit products; 2) risk is negatively related to hedonic behaviour and attitude towards counterfeit products; 3) value consciousness is positively related to hedonic behaviour and genuine store trustworthiness; 4) hedonic behaviour and attitude towards products are related to purchase intention. In addition, the results also support the moderation hypotheses of materialism, value consciousness and social status. The study suggests that marketers need to understand the importance of non-deceptive counterfeiting is useful and consumers have tendency to prefer to use these products once they are satisfied with their utility. The conceptual model developed and tested in this research enables the marketing managers to understand the antecedents of consumers purchase intention of counterfeit products. Antecedents of Ethical Goods and Services Tax Culture among young adults - Special Reference to Maharashtra and Karnataka
Since the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in 2017, it has become clear that this new Indian indirect tax system is here to stay. The Indian GST Council is continuously deliberating and making efforts to improve GST revenue collection at the state and central levels. The focus is now on the young adults in the country who will play a vital role in shaping the future of GST compliance. Their tax mentality and behaviour in contributing to GST revenue as daily consumers will determine the ethical tax culture in India. They need to understand how crucial their role is in discouraging evasive practices by sellers in the unorganised retail sector at the point of sale. The study utilized structural equation modelling to test the acceptability of the model. The process was supported by a structured questionnaire, with 324 respondents between the age group of 17-30 years. Understanding GST significantly influences acceptance of GST as a tax system, however, the acceptance of the GST tax system does not significantly lead to young adults discouraging the evasive behaviour of sellers in the unorganised retail sector at the point of sale. And, finally, the discouragement of evasive behaviour by young adults does influence the possibility of an ethical GST tax culture. The respondents majorly represented young adults between 17-20 years of age. The model has not measured the existence of covariance among the variables, nor has any mediating or moderating factors been identified, as GST tax culture in the Indian context is still unexplored and GST in itself is relatively new in the country. 2024 IEEE. -

Antenna Array with Non-Uniform Excitation and DNG Hybrid Metasurface for Next Generation Communication Equipment
This paper presents an approach for designing a hybrid metasurface array with nonuniform excitation. The proposed design features a unique feed network with minimal use of Quarter Wave Transformers (QWT's) to reduce the form-factor. The impedance matching between the feed network and the patch is achieved by adjusting the inset position and the gap between the patch and the feed. The metasurface consists of a hybrid metamaterial unit cell with five Split Ring Resonators (SRRs) on the bottom and a hexagonal ring made of six triangles on the top surface improves the bandwidth, gain and directivity of the proposed design. Equivalent circuit of the proposed array is modeled using ADS software. A prototype 1x4 array with metasurface is designed for a resonant frequency of 2.4 GHz and fabricated. A high gain of 9.46 dB with a -10 dB impedance bandwidth of 110 MHz is achieved, which amounts to an improvement of 16.36% gain and 31.58% bandwidth compared to conventional uniform excitation array. In terms of overall size, the proposed array antenna is reduced by 38.05% compared to traditional 1x4 microstrip array. 2021 IAMOT. All Rights Reserved. -

Anthraquinone Production from Cell and Organ Cultures of Rubia Species: An Overview
The Rubia genus includes major groups of medicinal plants such as Rubia cordifolia, Rubia tinctorum, and Rubia akane. They contain anthraquinones (AQs), particularly alizarin and purpurin, which have pharmacological effects that are anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, hemostatic, antibacterial, and more. Alizarin and purpurin have been utilized as natural dyes for cotton, silk, and wool fabrics since the dawn of time. These substances have been used in the cosmetics and food industries to color products. The amount of AQs in different Rubia species is minimal. In order to produce these compounds, researchers have established cell and organ cultures. Investigations have been conducted into numerous chemical and physical parameters that affect the biomass and accumulation of secondary metabolites in a cell, callus, hairy root, and adventitious root suspension cultures. This article offers numerous techniques and approaches used to produce biomass and secondary metabolites from the Rubia species. Additionally, it has been emphasized that cells can be grown in bioreactor cultures to produce AQs. 2022 by the authors. -
